Hot Edge Sprays
Applying hot coolant to work rolls for tight edge correction
- Applies hot coolant to the top and bottom work rolls outside the strip width to reduce the thermal camber effect; allows strip edge flatness to be maintained at higher rolling speeds and thus increases productivity
- Independently adjustable spray heads to accommodate varying incoming strip widths and positions
- Spray nozzles are mounted above or below the strip to ensure the optimum position for heating the work rolls
- Coolant temperatures up to 85°C provide the maximum roll heating effect
